ILS INTRODUCES EXPANDED PROTON LINE OF COST-EFFECTIVE LAUNCH VEHICLES

International Launch Services (ILS) announces a product line extension of the Proton Breeze M commercial launch vehicle designed to expand the addressable GEO market for cost effective launch solutions in the small and medium satellite class range (3 to 5 metric tons). Designated as “Proton Variants,” these two additional vehicles will be optimized 2-stage versions of the time tested and flight proven Proton Breeze M launch system for exclusive commercial use by ILS.

INTERNATIONAL LAUNCH SERVICES HIRES SENIOR DIRECTOR OF SALES

Peter Stier has been hired as Senior Director of Sales for International Launch Services (ILS). As a key member of the ILS sales team, Stier is responsible for leading the sales and business development activities of Proton and Angara launch services for customers in the Americas region.

Proton Launch Vehicle and Intelsat 31 Spacecraft Arrive at Baikonur Processing Center

The Proton launch vehicle and Intelsat 31 spacecraft both arrived safely via railcar at Building 92A-50 for processing in Hall 111 in preparation for the ILS Proton launch of Intelsat 31 later this month.

Khrunichev Space Center: Proton M Successfully Launches Russian Express-AM8 satellite

On 14 September at 10:00:00 pm Moscow Time, Proton-M ILV lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to orbit Express-AM8, a Russian communications satellite. This year, it is Proton’s fifth launch, and the second to inject an Express-AM-series spacecraft in 2015.

The launch vehicle liftoff and flight proceeded nominally. At the appropriate time the orbital block (spacecraft + DM-03 upper stage) separated from LV Stage III and continued its autonomous mission. Subsequently, the spacecraft was injected to the target orbit using the upper stage main engine.
