BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, April 20, 2011 - The Telstar 14R/Estrela do Sul 2 satellite was delivered today, ahead of schedule, for the start of its launch campaign. The spacecraft, built by Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) for Telesat, arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for commercial launch onboard a Proton Breeze M vehicle provided by International Launch Services (ILS).
The launch crew for the EUTELSAT 5 West B / Mission Extension Vehicle-1 mission had a spectacular view of the full moon at the Baikonur Cosmodrome Friday night / Saturday morning as the passed by Launch Pad 39 at the Cosmodrome.
The Antonov carrying both the EUTELSAT 5 West B and Mission Extension Vehicle-1 spacecraft arrived today at Yubileiny Airport in Kazakhstan around 11:30 am local time. Offload of ground support equipment and both spacecraft proceeded smoothly and both spacecraft are in route by train to the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Khrunichev Space Center has sent a Proton launch vehicle, head fairing, transition system, and Breeze-M booster to the Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 22, 2019 to prepare of the launch of EUTELSAT 5 West B and MEV-1.

SES's Astra 2G spacecraft delivered to Baikonur for ILS Proton Launch

The telecommunications satellite Astra 2G, manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space (a division of the European Group Airbus Group) commissioned by the satellite operator SES of Luxembourg, was delivered from Toulouse, France to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in preparation for launch.The Antonov cargo jet with the spacecraft and ground support equipment (IEE) landed at the Yublieiny airfied this morning.
