BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, Sept. 9, 2004 – The launch of the AMC-15 satellite scheduled for late September on an International Launch Services (ILS) Proton vehicle has been postponed to allow additional testing of one of the rocket's avionics subsystems.

To ensure mission success, the subsystem is being returned to the Russian vendor for evaluation and further testing. A new launch date will be set after the assessment is completed. The unit is used on the Breeze M upper stage, which has achieved a perfect record in eight Proton flights.

ILS is launching the satellite for SES AMERICOM, one of five missions scheduled with this customer in 2004. AMC-10 and AMC-11 were successfully launched on ILS Atlas vehicles in February and May, respectively.
