It turns out Halloween is mainly a U.S. holiday. So the ILS team decided to have a Halloween party to show the Astrium team some of the traditional U.S. customs. We got creative with what we had on hand and made Halloween decorations and costumes. Carving pumpkins was more of a challenge. We bought what we thought were pumpkins at the market but they weren’t…we carved them anyway!

How the Pinkerton crew found marshmallows (Halloween-themed, no less!) and graham crackers we are not sure but we were able to introduce our European colleagues to s’mores. (If you don’t know, a s’more is a traditional campfire treat, made by roasting a marshmallow, adding a piece of chocolate and sandwiching them between two pieces of graham cracker.) Everyone loved them!

The evening ended with a group sing-along to a guitar and harmonica serenade. It was a nice end to a fun day.
