BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, Oct. 09, 2008 — Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (KhSC) showed the best results in sales volume of goods and services in 2007, according to the rating of Russian leading economic entities published by analytical weekly magazine “The Expert” in early October this year.

KhSC is in 174th place on the list of 400 biggest companies in Russia. The company‘s volume of sales in 2007 was 22.367 billion rubles, an increase of 30 percent when compared to 2006 results (16.739 billion rubles).

KhSC is a top Russian space rocket manufacturer. Khrunichev manufactures the Proton, Russia’s premier heavy-lift vehicle, and is developing the Angara vehicle.
