BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan,  Dec, 14, 2009 — Three GLONASS navigation satellites were successfully delivered into a target orbit aboard a three–stage Proton M launch vehicle, launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan today.Control over the satellites  was passed to their customer.

A Proton M launch vehicle, topped by a Block DM  upper stage, blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 13:38 Moscow time (MT).

The lift off of the launch vehicle was nominal. The Proton’s Ascent Unit (the Block DM upper stage and the attached GLONASS payload) separation from the Proton third stage booster occurred successfully and on schedule.

The satellites were inserted into their target  orbit  by  the DM  upper stage.

The launch was conducted under the Russian Federation “Global Navigation System Program”- GLONASS.

This was the ninth Proton mission this year, and the 350th Proton flight overall.
