March 16, 2014The Proton Breeze M launch vehicle successfully placed the Express AT-1 and Express AT-2 satellites into orbit today. The vehicle lifted off at 3:08 a.m. Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.  After 9 hours, both spacecraft separated from the Breeze M and were released into geostationary orbit. This was the 2nd launch of the Proton vehicle this year and the 395th overall since its first flight in 1965.

The Proton vehicle is manufactured by Khrunichev State Research and Space Production Center of Moscow, one of the cornerstones of the global space industry.
