Atlas Successfully Launches INTELSAT 805 Satellite

CAPE CANAVERAL Air Station, Fla., June 18, 1998 – A Lockheed Martin Astronautics Atlas IIAS rocket successfully launched the INTELSAT 805 communications satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit this evening from Complex 36, Pad A, at Cape Canaveral Air Station (CCAS), Fla. Liftoff occurred on time at 6:48 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. It was the fourth successful launch of 1998 for Atlas, the 39th consecutive successful flight, and the 550th overall flight of an Atlas booster.

Atlas Selected for HISPASAT 1C Launch

Proton Does Not Deliver AsiaSat 3 to Proper Orbit

 

MOSCOW, Dec. 25, 1997 – The Proton-K launch vehicle manufactured by the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center was launched on December 25th from Launch Pad 23, Area 91, of the Baikonur Cosmodrome by launch teams of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense. 589 seconds after liftoff, the rocket injected the AsiaSat 3 telecommunications satellite in the support orbit.
