ILS Successfully Orbits AMC-10 Satellite

CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Fla., Feb. 5, 2004 – International Launch Services (ILS) scored another success tonight, with the launch of the AMC-10 satellite on board a Lockheed Martin-built Atlas IIAS rocket.The rocket lifted off at 6:46 p.m. from Cape Canaveral’s Space Launch Complex 36A, and placed the satellite into a transfer orbit 28 minutes later. The satellite is an A2100 model, built by Lockheed Martin for SES AMERICOM of Princeton, N.J. This was the first launch of the year for ILS. It also is one of four missions for SES AMERICOM on the ILS manifest this year.

Baikonur Cosmodrome, December 29, 2003 — A Proton launch vehicle successfully deployed the Express-AM22 satellite for the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC). The Express-AM22 launch is the first in a five-satellite campaign to enhance the Russian national system capacity by the end of 2005. The launch was performed under the Federal Space Program of Russia and concluded a successful year for the Proton launch vehicle with five launches in 2003.

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif., Dec. 2, 2003 — An Atlas IIAS rocket successfully lifted off today at 2:04 a.m. PST (10:04 GMT) from this West Coast launch site, releasing a national security payload into transfer orbit 74 minutes later.

Baikonur Cosmodrome, November 24, 2003 — A Proton launch vehicle lifted off this morning at 9:22 a.m. Moscow time and successfully placed two Yamal-200 telecommunications satellites into geostationary orbit. This was the third Proton launch in 2003.
