On 14 September at 10:00:00 pm Moscow Time, Proton-M ILV lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to orbit Express-AM8, a Russian communications satellite. This year, it is Proton’s fifth launch, and the second to inject an Express-AM-series spacecraft in 2015.
International Launch Services (ILS) and HISPASAT announce a contract for the launch of a satellite on ILS Proton in the first half of 2017 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for HISPASAT, headquartered in Madrid, Spain. Reston, VA, September 11, 2015 –International Launch Services (ILS) announces the appointment of Kirk Pysher as president. Mr. Pysher will take over leadership from Phil Slack, who served as president of ILS since 2012. Khrunichev State Research and Space Production Center (Khrunichev), the majority owner of ILS, has provided its full endorsement of Mr. Pysher as the new head of ILS.
The Board of Directors of the Washington Space Business Roundtable (WSBR) has announced its 2015-2016 Officers and Directors, effective August 1, 2015. The Board named Janice Starzyk, Director of Sales & Marketing for International Launch Services (ILS), as President for a second year term leading and overseeing all WSBR activities.
The International Launch Services (ILS) Failure Review Oversight Board (FROB) concluded its work, concurring with the most probable cause and the associated corrective action plan which were identified by the Russian Interagency Commission (IAC) as a result of the May 16 Proton launch vehicle failure carrying the Centenario spacecraft.
The members of the FROB reviewed the findings and conclusions from the IAC along with results from testing and investigations that the IAC directed to be performed by Khrunichev and their subsidiaries.
