Khrunichev and Boeing extend contract to maintain the operation of the FCB Zarya

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: Khrunichev Space Center and Boeing announced today that they will extend the contract to maintain the operation of the Functional Cargo Block (FCB) Zarya. Zarya was the first module of the International Space Station launched in November 1998 by a Proton K rocket.

Khrunichev and Boeing Extend Cooperation; Khrunichev Receives Performance Excellence Award

UPDATED: Khrunichev Space Center, which commissioned the Boeing Company’s first block of the International Space Station (ISS), the Zarya Functional Cargo Block (FGB) more than 20 years ago, plans to extend cooperation with Boeing to further support the operation of the module. “Currently work is underway to conclude additional contracts with Boeing to ensure the operation of the module from 2021 to 2024,” stated Khrunichev’s press department.

Proton Successfully Delivers Russian Communications Satellite Yamal-601 into Orbit

MOSCOW, May 31, 2019 – Following is a joint press release from Roscosmos/Khrunichev Space Center: The Proton M / Breeze M integrated launch vehicle was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on May 30 at 8:42 pm (Moscow time) and successfully injected the Yamal-601 telecommunication satellite into orbit for the Russian satellite operator JSC Gazprom Space Systems.

Khrunichev space center: preparations underway for serial production of Angara family of launch vehicles

Department of Communications – Khrunichev Space Center

Khrunichev Center (part of ROSCOSMOS State Corporation) and the Central Machine Building Research Institute (TsNIIMash) are performing joint vibration tests of one of the Universal Rocket Modules (URM-1) that form the core of the Angara-A5 first stage. These tests started in late 2017 and will take several months to complete.
