SES’s Astra 2G Spacecraft Delivered to Baikonur for ILS Proton Launch

Khrunichev Press release   SES's Astra 2G spacecraft delivered to Baikonur for ILS Proton Launch 10/29/2014 The telecommunications satellite Astra 2G, manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space (a division of the European Group Airbus Group) commissioned by the satellite operator SES of Luxembourg, was delivered from Toulouse, France to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in preparation for launch.The Antonov cargo jet with the spacecraft and ground support equipment (IEE) landed at the Yublieiny airfied this morning.

Failure Review Oversight Board (FROB) Concludes Express AM4R Investigation; Return to Flight Mission Success on September 28

September 29, 2014- The ILS Failure Review Oversight Board (FROB) has concluded its work, after a detailed review of the findings, conclusions and identified corrective action plans from the Russian State Inter-agency Commission (IAC) and Khrunichev (KhSC) investigations into the probable cause of the May 16 failure of the Russian Federal Proton mission carrying the Express AM4R satellite.

WSBR Announces 2014-15 Board of Directors; Janice Starzyk Named President

The Board of the Washington Space Business Roundtable (WSBR) has announced its 2014-2015 Board of Directors, effective August 1, 2014, and named Janice Starzyk, of International Launch Services, as president for a year-long term. Ms. Starzyk replaces outgoing president Stephen Ganote, of Avascent, and will oversee all WSBR activities.
