Khrunichev Space Center: The 100th launch of the Proton M was successfully completed

On August 17, 2017 at 01:07 Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the Proton Breeze M launch vehicle successfully launched a spacecraft into the orbit in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The launch was the 100th heavy lift for Proton M, which has been in use since 2001, and the 414th launch in the Proton rocket since its maiden flight in 1965.

Precious Cargo On Board: The train carrying the EchoStar XXI launch vehicle arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 2:10 pm local time today in preparation for the integration of the launch vehicle with the satellite. ILS Proton Launch of EchoStar XXI Satellite Postponed

Khrunichev has informed ILS of the need to postpone the Proton Breeze M launch of the EchoStar XXI satellite previously scheduled for December 28, 2016. A new launch date has not yet been scheduled.
 
Currently the launch vehicle and satellite remain healthy and in a safe configuration at the launch site at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.  ILS will continue to keep you informed as additional information becomes available.
