Khrunichev Director General and ILS Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications Elected to ILS Board

Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (Khrunichev) Director General Alexander Ivanovich Seliverstov has been recently elected to the International Launch Services (ILS) Board of Directors as Chairman of the Board. Seliverstov became the Director General of Khrunichev in November 2012.  Additionally, Dawn Harms, ILS Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications, was appointed to the ILS Board of Directors. Harms joins previously elected Board of Directors members Vladimir Nesterov and Sergey Anisimov, of Khrunichev, Tom Tshudy and Phil Slack of ILS.


Investigation Underway on Proton Launch Anomaly

December 14, 2012 – International Launch Services (ILS) and Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (Khrunichev) announce that a Russian commission has convened and an investigation is underway to determine the root cause of the December 8 ILS Proton launch anomaly with the Yamal 402 satellite.


ILS Declares a Proton Launch Anomaly

BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, December 8, 2012– Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center (Khrunichev) and International Launch Services (ILS) regret to announce an anomaly during the launch of the Yamal 402 satellite. The satellite had been built by Thales Alenia Space for Russian satellite operator, Gazprom Space Systems.
The Proton Breeze M rocket lifted off at 7:13 p.m. today local time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, carrying the Yamal 402 satellite.  Preliminary flight information indicates that the 4th and final burn of the Breeze M engine ended about four minutes early and subsequently separated the spacecraft.


International Launch Services Announces Change in Leadership

Reston, VA November 20, 2012 – ILS announces the departure of Frank McKenna as ILS’ president and the appointment of Phil Slack as president of ILS. For the past twelve years, Slack was the vice president and chief financial officer for ILS. Prior to ILS, he held several senior business management positions with Boeing, primarily in their space transportation business from 1988 until joining ILS in 2000.


International Launch Services Wins Two Silver Davey Awards

Reston, VA., November 15, 2012 – International Launch Services (ILS), a leading commercial launch services provider, has announced its receipt of two international silver Davey Awards for website design. The awards, given in the categories of Professional Services and Small Business, were presented to ILS earlier this month.
